Accept My Apology by Guard-of-the-Citadel Accept My Apology by Guard-of-the-Citadel
The day I had my photo shoot at Wolf Park (3/23/09), the wolves were very frisky and aggressive with each other in the morning. I have a lot of dominance interaction shots taken this morning. So I'm going to share some of those with you now.

This shot, along with Submission and You Are The Boss, are all taken in sequence.

Hey are you in the Lafayette area then? I'm going to Purdue right now. Haven't been to this park yet though.

I live in Greenwood, but I've been a member of Wolf Park for years. I'll be going back for my 6th shoot with the pack on Oct. 24th. I highly recommend you visit some evening for howl night. It's fun!

That does sound cool. I have a car this year, so maybe I will. Wolves fascinate me so I should probably go sometime anyway, regardless of whether it's a howl night or not.

No, no worries! This is all part of normal pack interaction. This is letting the beta know his 'place'. This kind of behavior takes place all of the time. At times, ears, heads, butts, tails will get nipped and sometimes bit, dependent upon how aggressive the dominance behavior becomes. But the staff will remove a wolf before any serious injury would happen to him. This....this is mild. :)

Thanks! The alpha was just "dethroned" so to speak and removed from the pack. My poor Tristan!!!! Now a new alpha will come to be....
